Deeds Not Words is a nonprofit founded by former Texas senator, Wendy Davis, with the purpose of turning ideas about women's equality into action. As a Graphic Design Intern, I am responsible for designing graphics for social media, visual representation of data, printed material for events, and anything else needed by the Deeds Not Words staff. Deeds Not Words is a national organization with a digital reach of over 1 million people, and continues to grow in hopes of encouraging voters to take action for women's rights.
Working with Deeds Not Words has given me experience with adhering to very specific brand guidelines. Since Deeds Not Words is a national organization, consistency of branding is important for continued growth. Graphic design for Deeds Not Words' social media is often dependent on current events and daily political developments, so it can be fast-paced and requires a quick turnaround for graphics.
